Results Document Best Practices
Use the below best practices if you are using documents (recommended formats pdf, word, excel, html, json) to display results on your site. These steps will help to reduce the caching window on documents, getting results to your visitors as fast as possible.
- Create a folder in the Media section of your site to be used for Results files.
- When a new results file is ready to be added to the site, save the document using a file name that provides context about which file is populating. This assists in ensuring upload success as the URL path on the published site will display this file name.
- File name examples: Results-9pm.pdf, Results-930pm.html
- Navigate to the results page you want to update.
- Replace the results file with the newest version.
- Publish the page
Adding Content from your Documents
If document updates are not appearing within the caching window, consider copying the content from the results document and pasting this into the content on the page. This approach helps ensure that results are populating as fast as possible.
