Add a global component to the top of your webpage
You can add content components to your Global Content that will appear at the top of every web page, displaying just under the main navigation. This is done in the 'Above Main Content' section of the 'Global Content' tab.
There are two options available for positioning this global content at the top of your page. Both options position the global content relative to the 'Above main content' section content in the page's 'Extra Content' tab.
Adding components to the 'Top component' section will place the global content above any content added on individual web pages.
Adding components to the 'Bottom component' section will place the global content below any content added on individual web pages.
To add global 'Above Main Content' components follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Global node in the navigation tree. The Global node is often locked down for security reasons. Contact your site administrator for assistance if you need access
- Select the 'Settings' tab from the top menu options
- Open the 'Global Content' tab
- Locate the 'Above Main Content' section
- Determine if the global content will appear above or below the web page's individual top content. Click the 'Add' button for your selected section (Top components or Bottom components)
- This will open the 'Add content' slide-out panel
- Select the content component you would like to add
- Fill out the content component details and settings
